Mohammad Abu Sakha, head of marketing in Crowne Plaza Amman, had approached me about creating a marketing piece that was to function both as a single flowing clip and also three to four separate video clips designed to go on Instagram.
The video was to showcase the location of the cafe, the delicious food and refreshing beverages that they had to offer. This was not a problem as I had tried their food previously and it was indeed wonderful! They have new cocktails they wanted to showcase for the summer and also a renewed aesthetic style to their food.
The variety of food and drinks were important to portray, as this was not the average shisha bar that Jordan had to offer. This was a shisha cafe with a fully stocked bar for those who are over 18 and a two fully equipped kitchens backed up by the hotel and its standards at the ready.
The post-production process was easier than I anticipated. Working with Mohammad Abu Sakha is always a pleasure, as we both know the direction of many of our projects right from the start. We worked together to make a schedule around the food and drinks in order to shoot them piping hot, so in my head, I already knew that I had to organize most of the footage by genre in post-production. Using Adobe Premiere Pro I was able to create a pancake timeline where the top timeline acted as my selects reel and the bottom timeline was my master output timeline.
Eventually, this became the deliverable format as the output required a different timeline with segmented clips for the Instagram deliverables, and another timeline with the full video.
