A client had approached director and producer Ali Mango to help create a small commercial video using only stock elements in order to promote a new brand by the name of MANTRAA. The re-brand was supposed to incorporate a new visual feel as well as sport a new sleek logo.

The production decided to use their studio and their resources in order to come up with the best version of the soundtrack for the client. The client had specific needs that mixed genres such as minimal trance and epic orchestral.
As the editing project continued on, there arose some budgetary issues. In order to compensate, a solution was thought up in order to save money and keep everything within budget. The solution was to buy standard definition stock footage with a resolution of 720p or lower and then use After Effects proprietary algorithm to effectively upscale it to 1080p, or larger, without losing too much detail.

Whatever one may think about their pricing strategy, It is seldom hard to deny that through their media experience they offer a variety of solutions from each aspect of their software’s. In this case, the up-scaling detail preservation at a bi-cubic ratio function has always been available in Adobe Photoshop in order to upscale and downscale images without losing too much quality, and it has only been getting better and better with the updates. In late 2019 Adobe updated a better more stable version for Adobe After Effects which allows for upresing any video resolution to a higher resolution. Of course the drawbacks are that it this process creates huge file sizes that take much longer to render, but this methodology is definitely more effective than just scaling up the size in Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premier Pro.
