Shot on location in the city of Chicago, the film ‘OBSCURA’ delves into the psychology of a photographer who suddenly gets the dawning sensation that she is being followed by somebody; unsure as to how to cope with this new found experience, the lines between reality and nightmare are irrevocably blurred. The film was written and directed by Yasmin Polk, dealing with themes of guilt and trauma, she emphasizes the relationship of past experiences as they underlie and ultimately paint our interaction with the present moment.
A photographer attempts to erase her past but doesn't realize a camera brings back memories. She carries on with her life until one day the past decides to haunt her. A girl in red starts to appear in all her photography. When she replays the footage, she gradually begins to recollect all of the unspeakable things of the past.
